In 2024, the El Paso Coalition for the Homeless counted 809 homeless people in the El Paso area. However, considering the fact that a large majority of the homeless are considered to be "hidden" because they live in their cars or other circumstances, it's safe to say that conservatively speaking, the actual number of people experiencing homelessness in El Paso may double this amount. One of the biggest contributing factors to the prevalence of homelessness is the lack of affordable and safe housing. Its severity has only been compounded by the financial aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the migrant crisis at the border. Therefore, homelessness is a much larger issue than most people can imagine in our beloved El Paso community.
Our residential facility can house up to 193 people and we average 120 people per night. We welcome men, women, families, those with medical needs, low income renters, Relapse Prevention participants and migrant families. As a Mission we strive to provide a family friendly environment that allows our residents to feel the love of God.
Guests are welcome to stay on a 30 day basis and extensions can be made as needed. Every person at the Rescue Mission receives a bed, shower, 3 meals a day, access to laundry machines, access to a nurse, and much more.
The Relapse Prevention program is a 13 week course that addresses the physical, mental, social, and spiritual aspects of recovery from drugs and alcohol with a Biblical perspective.

In our mission to model Jesus to the community, we believe that offering Biblical counseling and spiritual support is a crucial element in the pursuit of bringing people to know and live in the freedom of the Gospel. Our Chaplain provides a Chapel Service and a Bible Study weekly and is available to all our residents for counseling, prayer and discipleship opportunities.

The Corner of Hope is a street outreach to the men and women who are in need of our help but are not residents. The facility provides warm food, coffee, clothes, access to restrooms, showers, laundry machines and compassionate staff who share hope. We see an average of about 50 people come through every week day.
The biggest need for the Corner of Hope are
men's underwear, men's shirts, men's socks,
shampoo, bodywash and backpacks.

On September 9, 2022, immigration buses, the first of many more to come, dropped off 50 people at our doorstep. Soon enough, every square inch of the Rescue Mission's main building was being used to shelter migrants. Inside our library and chapel, and all along the halls, migrants laid on makeshift beds and blankets.
We knew this was only the beginning, and after hearing many stories of loss, heartbreak, abuse and great violence, we were convinced this was a God-given opportunity for the Mission to embrace more people than ever before.
In response to their great need, the Rescue Mission rented out the facility across the street and it became our permanent Migrant Shelter. Now, we regularly receive between 40-100 people a day, and just as many leave the next to sanctuary cities. Our numbers are at a constant fluctuation as border policies and migration patterns do so too.
Not only do we invest in the souls of our residents but in their futures as well by providing Job Search Services. Our Counselors/Case Workers assist our residents with resume development, interview strategies, job application submissions, acquiring a proper wardrobe for work and connecting with staffing companies and organizations.
