In 2021, the El Paso Coalition for the Homeless counted 1,102 homeless people in the El Paso area. However, considering the fact that a large majority of the homeless are considered to be "hidden" because they live in their cars or other circumstances, it's safe to say that conservatively speaking, the actual number of people experiencing homelessness in El Paso is more than twice 1,102 and more likely to be well over 2,500. One of the biggest contributing factors to the homeless issue is the lack of affordable and safe housing. Add to the equation the economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the migrant crisis at the border and you can understand the severity of the situation at hand in our community.
The Rescue Mission of El Paso will model Jesus to the community by providing love, compassion, humble and selfless service to the needy and disabled in a safe, trusting, and nurturing environment.
Evangelism - Matt. 28:19-20
Hospitality - Matt. 25:40; Heb. 13:2
Sanctuary - Psalm 61: 4
Re-Creation - II Tim. 2:2
Our residential facility can house up to 193 people and we average 120 people per night. We welcome men, women, families, those with medical needs, low income renters, Relapse Prevention participants and migrant families. As a Mission we strive to provide a family friendly environment that allows our residents to feel the love of God.
Guests are welcome to stay on a 30 day basis and extentions can be made as needed. Every person at the Rescue Mission receives a bed, shower, 3 meals a day, access to laundry machines, access to a nurse, and much more.

In our mission to model Jesus to the community, we believe that offering Biblical counseling and spiritual support is a crucial element in the pursuit of bringing people to know and live in the freedom of the Gospel. Our Chaplain provides a Chapel Service and a Bible Study weekly and is available to all our residents for counseling, prayer and discipleship opportunities.
